1st Charles Reinke topped a small group of four players with his impeccable 3-0 +245 performance. He started off with a strong 547-336 win against Sara McLaughlin, getting down DEFUELS, TERNIONS, OVERDRAW, and DISASTER against Sara's sole bingo of REDLINE. The torrent of bingos didn't continue into the next round, however, and Charles just barely pulled out a 406-393 win against Thomas Reinke, aided only by a high-probability bingo of STEARIN (Thomas had AVIARIES and the word-of-the-week BISTOURY, which is a type of surgical knife). Notably, Charles' victory snapped the nine-game losing streak he had suffered at the hands of his brother. It also marks the beginning of his upcoming 34-game winning streak against that same opponent.

2nd Thomas Reinke went 2-1 with a healthy spread total of +434. Both of this wins could accurately be termed "blowouts". A 462-289 win against Bryan Benwitz was a good start, but the 557-283 win against Sara McLaughlin was even better. His bingos in those two games were ISOLATE, RELISTS, SUASION, ANTIGENE, FARADIZE, PARAVANE. His play of PARAVANE shall forever stand as a testament to the utility of studying words that have three A's, a P, and a V. Next up on Thomas' bucket list: PIASAVA. Or VANASPATI.

1st Thomas Reinke, with his 2-1 +221 record, topped a 6-player field which featured no undefeated players but did feature four 2-1 players. He suffered defeat in round one against Helen Flores, 363-380, thanks to her late bingo of PEONIES (Thomas had an earlier ZOOTIER). The scoresheet for this game will certainly join the others which are currently affixed in a place of prominence on Helen's fridge. Despite the early setback, Thomas rebounded with a 446-289 win against Sue Goldstein and a 465-394 win against Charles Reinke. In the latter game, Thomas' bingos of TOROIDAL, RATIFIER, and DEFRAGS put the game out well out of the reach of his brother, who got down RAFTSMAN and MAJORITY.

2nd Bryan Benwitz went 2-1 and accumulated just enough spread points (72 of them, to be exact) to place second in the standings. Just like Thomas was a round-one loser, so was Bryan, as he was taken down by Charles Reinke 337-471. Bryan struggled to get a single bingo down (TENEBRAE), while Charles had TISSUING, GLUTTONS, and the phony WURZITES* (WURTZITE is the word he was thinking of; his attempt was possibly an unholy combination of KUNZITE and WURZEL). But Bryan's fortunes turned quickly after that disappointing outcome, and by round three he was firing on all cylinders, as demonstrated by his 483-310 triumph over Dennis Lloyd. ENGULFED, REINVENT, and SENSATED were his bingos in that one.

1st Bryan Benwitz rebounded from a 1-3 record the previous week to pull off an undefeated 4-0 +433 record this week. He ended Thomas Reinke's 12-game winning streak in emphatic fashion, emerging triumphant from their encounter holding up a scoresheet which read "Bryan: 496 - Thomas: 280". Bryan's bingos in that game were CLOUDING, ASSORTED, and EGGLESS. A victory against the other twin, by a score of 421-403, was less impressive from a pure dominance perspective, but Bryan's 149-point triple-triple of DIASTEMA was impressive in its own way, even if the club didn't collect enough money to pay out the $5 triple-triple prize (not to mention the $5 prize for ending a 10-game winning streak).

2nd Thomas Reinke went 3-1 with a smaller-than-expected +34 spread, although readers of the above paragraph will know exactly why Thomas' cumulative point total was so small. His highest-scoring game was a 495-401 barn-burner against Dennis Lloyd, who suffered his highest-scoring loss of this club season. By way of bingos, Thomas got down RATHOLE, RENTIERS, and AUDIENT (all quite high-probability), while Dennis got down AERATION and BADNESS (the latter for a cool 96 points). And while Thomas may have had his 12-game winning streak brutally terminated by Bryan, he made up for it by extending his winning streak against his brother to an improbable eight games, this time winning 410-341. Sources close to the situation report that tension in the Reinke household has never been higher.
