CHARLES REINKE CLOSES IN ON THOMAS W/ 4-0

1st Charles Reinke won all 4 of his games as he picked up major ground on overtaking his brothers top place in the club stats, ending up just 1.3% points behind after his four game sweep at the club’s Church meeting on a cold near freezing night.

2nd Andy Bohnsack finished in 2nd with 3-1 +450 night. Andy had 12 bingoes along the way, including 4 in his 511-341 win vs. Richard Lauder. His finds there were ACTIONER, SWEARER, MINUTIAE and SYNERGY.

3rd Thomas Reinke finished 3rd on a 2-2 +126 outing. Andy Bohnsack and Mary Becker both earned their upset victories against Thomas, while Thomas was being held to a single bingo (VESICATE) in those opening games.

SUE GOLDSTEIN TOPS TEENSY INTERMEDIATE FIELD

1st Sue Goldstein finished in 1st 2-1 +62 total as she and the sole other Intermediate this night, June Scott enjoyed their 3 games playing “Queen-of-the-hill” matches with each other.

2nd June Scott concluded her night with a 1-2 -62 final score sheet as she won her first game with Sue 359-312 in their head-to-head games.

10 scrabble players, our lowest club turnout in years, met at Covenant Church on a wet and cold night this week... Charles Reinke was awarded the $3 prize for the highest “B” play (in BANKIT), June Scott had the lowest AN play, whilst the high KI was given out to Richard Lauder, and the final low T count was unknown at the point Richard left..

ANDY BOHNSACK ‘S 4-0 BESTS EXPERTS

1st Andy Bohnsack escaped with a narrow 6 point start (419-413) against Club leading Thomas Reinke, then he won by 16 (438-422) against Thomas’s brother Charles before finishing his night with a huge 520-437 game vs. Richard Lauder. Andy’s triple-triple of POLKAING for 167 points was the decider in that last matchup.

2nd Richard Lauder finished in 2nd with a 4-1 +484. Richard played his high game of the year, a 546-280 game with Helen Flores as part of a 2 vs. 1 first game. Richard was “bingo king” this week with 12.

3rd Shayla Dunn finished 3rd with a 3-1 +209 cume. Shayla handily stopped Thomas Reinke 478-359 in her highest scoring game of the night, a rare loss for Thomas.

HELEN FLORES TOPS INTERMEDIATES

1st Helen Flores finished in 1st with 3-1 +31 record, despite starting -266 points after her opening 280-546 loss. She closed out her night with a solid 397-304 win vs. Lynda Finn. Lynda is often Helen’s midweek sparring partner in their off site gaming sessions.

2nd Harwinder Dowd captured second on a 1-2 39, her first game win against June Scott in a 364-271 opener. Harwinder played the only bingo played, SELLING in buying that first victory.

3rd Sue Goldstein captured 3rd on a 1-3 -242, her closest game her opening loss by 42 points of 339-381 to Barb Besadny, despite Sue’s bingo of THINKERS.

16 scrabble players met at Attic Angels on a cold blustery night this week... Shayla Dunn was awarded the $4 prize for the highest “M” play (in MYLAR), Susan Vergeront had the lowest 6 point Y, whilst the high L was given out for Charles Reinke’s play of FLECTION, and the final low AR count was snared by Peter Schmiedicke.

Andy Bohnsack and Lynda Finn celebrated birthday’s this week and the club celebrated with a great cake their successful natal occasions.

Next week, BANKIT (n, a raised sidewalk) will provide the $4 sheeny cloths.

CHARLES REINKE’S SWEEP TOPS EXPERTS

1st Charles Reinke rode 11 bingos to a perfect 4-0 +376 as he was the only unscathed player this evening. Charles’s big game was a 522-271 4 bingo run against Barb Besadny. His bingos there were EARSHOT, OVERTONE, SELENATE and MIDGUTS.

2nd Andy Bohnsack finished in 2nd with a 3-1 +408 evening. Andy was Bingo co-King this time out with Charles Reinke with 11 bingos of his own, including the word of the week, IPOMOEAS, played as a triple-triple through Mary Becker’s M.

3rd Thomas Reinke finished 3rd with his 3-1 +230 cume. He found his tightest game was against new player but likewise expert level player Peter Schmiedicke in a 414-378 game.

KATIE DAVID TOPS INTERMEDIATES

1st Katie David finished in 1st with a 1-1 +despite her being obviously under the weather. Katie ended up leaving after her second game as she still had miles to travel before she could get a needed good night’s rest.

2nd June Scott captured second on a 1-2 -182, her sole win against Sue Goldstein in a tightly played 298-290 final game.

3rd Sue Goldstein captured 3rd on a 1-3 -212, her sole win against a fading Katie David 395-361 in their first game of the night.
