THOMAS REINKE CAPTURES 1st WITH 4-0 +330

1st Thomas Reinke took over the Reinke train’s steering wheel when his brother Charles’s 15 game win streak was ended by Shayla Dunn (424-405), and then narrowly edging that same Shayla Dunn 354-341 in the very next game while on his way to his undefeated evening.

2nd Charles Reinke finished in 2nd with 3-1 +384 tally sheet. Charles also played the word of the week, DIANTHUS, as he won “word of the week” for the 3rd straight week. Charles still has a commanding 3.1% lead over his brother Thomas who is the #2 top player at club this year. The brothers Reinke finished #1, #2 this past Saturday at Lynda Finn’s Waupun Tourney. Thomas finished at #1 there as well.

3rd Shayla Dunn finished 3rd with her 3-1 +208 performance. Shayla’s big game was her 479-378 win vs. Richard Lauder where her two bingoes of OVERHANG as a double-double and AEROLITE added to her total winning score.

SUE GOLDSTEIN TOPS IN INTERMEDIATE FIELD

1st Sue Goldstein finished in 1st at 2-1 +96. Sue won her closing game with Barb Besadny by the narrowest of margins, a single point 363-362.

2nd June Scott finished 2nd with a 1-2 +12 record. June’s closest game was a miniscule five point loss, 341-346 to Leslie Seltzer in a tightly contested 2nd game.

3rd Harwinder Dowd finished 3rd with her own 1-2 -121 final results. Harwinder’s final game was a 340-399 loss to Helen Flores. Helen’s play of GRAVIES for a bingo made for the necessary point difference in their two scores.

CHARLES REINKE RECORDS 14th STRAIGHT WIN @ 5-0 +656

1st Charles Reinke has been on a roll, once again sweeping all of his games to run his current streak to 14 straight. Cowering Club members may have to call in Mark Kenas, aka “The stopper” soon. Charles’s nights high game was a resounding 533-352 vs. his brother Thomas. Charles was also bingo king this week with 10, including STENGHAS, the word of the week.

2nd Michael David finished in 2nd with 3-1 +140 score sheet. Michael won a high scoring opening game 470-430 with Andy Bohnsack as he made a rare appearance for him at club this Fall. Michael laid down PROPOSE and EARSTONE to Andy’s TULADIS and DENTIST answering bingos.

3rd Thomas Reinke finished 3rd with a 3-2 +97 record. His closest game was a narrow 25 point win vs. Lynda Finn 422-397. His two bingoes of OUTRIDES and TEVATRON made for the diff there.

BETTY HASSELKUS TOPS IN INTERMEDIATE FIELD

1st Betty Hasselkus finished in 1st at 3-1 +377 in the intermediates, her sole loss coming in the 4th round in her game with Sue Goldstein 336-356, despite her bingo there of ARTLESS.

2nd Sue Goldstein finished 2nd with her 3-1 -50 final accounting. Sue did loss her 3rd game when she at Betty played in a 269-424 game in which Sue felt she drew like “ugh” on her way to that sound loss.

3rd Aki Miura finished 3rd with his 1-2 -123 total, his sole win coming in a head-to-head battle with his favorite opponent, his wife Sharlie. Aki won that game 385-288 as he once again scored quite well without the benefit of a single bingo play.

14 scrabble players met at the Church on Thanksgiving Eve this week... Charles Reinke was awarded the $4 prize for the highest “A” play with MANIOCA (in AZUKI), seems no one had the lowest Z play, while the high UK was given out to Leslie Seltzer’s OUTDRANK, and the final low I count went to Richard Lauder’s RATIO play at 6.

CHARLES REINKE LEAPS INTO FIRST IN EXPERTS

1st Charles Reinke again won all 4 of his games as he took firm hold on the top spot in the experts, extending his current win streak to 9 straight. His only close game of the night was his 50 point win at 418-368 over the former club leader, his brother Thomas Reinke.

2nd Peter Schmiedicke finished in 2nd with 3-1 +236 score sheet. Peter’s big game came in his closing game, a 554-324 rout in his first time ever match up with Leslie Seltzer. Peter’s bingos of DRUGGIES and BEEPERS, two words commonly related in real life, added to his cause.

3rd Richard Lauder finished 3rd on 3-1 +146 final tally. Richard’s sole loss came when he fell to Thomas Reinke, 396-491, his two bingos therein (IDEATION, INMATES) falling well short of Thomas’s trio of OUTLYING, CARTAGE and ETERNALS.

SUE GOLDSTEIN TOPS A LESS TEENSY INTERMEDIATE FIELD

1st Sue Goldstein finished in 1st at 3-1 +41 in a mini-group of 3 Intermediate players at Attic Angels. Susan’s only loss came when she played expert Peter Schmiedicke, 250-353. This is the 2nd consecutive week that a small Intermediate turnout has allowed all Intermediate games to be played at the same table setup.

2nd Harwinder Dowd finished 2nd with her 1-2 -131, winning her second game by 100 points 346-246 as she and June Scott played their head-to-head game at Attic Angels.

3rd June Scott finished 3rd with A 0-4 -107 record, losing her last game in a narrow 297-301 see-saw game with Sue Goldstein.
