THOMAS REINKE CABOSHES ANDY’S STREAK AT 11
1st Thomas Reinke swept through the experts at 4-0 +590, ending Andy Bohnsack’s win streak at 11 along the way. Thomas further cemented his spot atop the experts with his 78.2% winning record.
2nd Mark Kenas took second on his 3-1 +416 evening Mark’s big win came as he handily bested Richard Lauder 533-244 with bingos of RETILED, RECHOSEN, and DANSEUR in that game. Mark also played the word-of-the-week, DUOLOGUE in his opening game win 406-372 with Charles Reinke.
3rd Andy Bohnsack finished third place on 3-1 +362. Andy’s high game of the night was a 520-295 total vs. Leslie Seltzer. Andy played DENTURAL, RUBEOLAS and SAMPLERS in that encounter.
MATT RUST 1st IN INTERMEDIATES
1st Matt Rust finished atop the Intermediates with a 3-1 +159 final tally, winning his last game 395-251 against Sue Goldstein. Matt did get away with the phony bingo “indians” in that closing effort.
2ndJ June Scott ended in 2nd with a solid 2-1 +98 with wins from returning member Max Maxwell and Aki Miura on the plus side of her Weekly Score Card.
3rd Sue Goldstein captured 3rd with a 2-2 -194 evening. Sue made great use of a tough looking rack when she found and played CAUTIOUS in her 358-293 win vs. Sharlie Miura.
21 scrabble players met at Attic Angels this week,... Helen Flores was awarded the $4 prize for the highest “LA” play (in LAGUNE), Leslie Seltzer had the lowest G play, Thomas Reinke took high UN with ANGULOSE, and Richard Lauder’s 7 point BE play was the lowest reported E play.

ANDY BOHNSACK RUNS THE TABLE ONCE AGAIN
1st Andy Bohnsack swept through the experts for the 2nd straight week, running his current streak to 8 straight wins. His big win was his opening 496-383 blow out vs. Mark Kenas, as Andy laid down METERING, SUBVERTS, RATICIDE and ENTRAIN as played bingoes.
2nd Thomas Reinke took second on a 4-1 with a huge 628 cume margin. Thomas was bingo king this week, with 12 including the word of the week, SWANKILY. Thomas remains as the top player in the club, just narrowly ahead of his brother Charles.
3rd Charles Reinke captured third place on 3-1 +210. His closest game was a narrow 3 point win (412-409) against brother Thomas. Charles managed that win despite being held to a single bingo, ATTENDS. The 3 highest ranked club players finished in places 1-3 this week…go figure.
SUE GOLDSTEIN 1st IN INTERMEDIATES
1st Sue Goldstein finished her night at 2-2 -138 to take top place in the Intermediates. She opened her night with a close win against newbie Molly Gardner 366-342.
2nd June Scott ended in 2nd in the field of 3 intermediates, with her 1-2 -77 finish. June ended her night with a win, 299-277 over her long term sparring partner, Sue Goldstein.
3rd Harwinder Dowd clinched 3rd with a 1-2 evening. Harwinder opened with a strong game, a 353-296 encounter with June Scott, DANGERS her bingo there.
17 scrabble players met at the Church this week,... Andy Bohnsack was awarded the $4 prize for the highest “C” play (in CALIF), June Scott had the lowest A play, Mark Kenas took high LI with a very unusual bingo of SLIPKNOT, and Susan Vergeront volunteered the finishing low F play. Matt Rust after a long absence came back to the friendly confines of the Scrabble group but ran smack into several buzz saws as he drew bingo less racks all night long. It’s still “Welcome back” to Matt and we hope you rejoin us soon. Next week we meet back at Attic Angels.
ANDY BOHNSACK CLEAN EXPERT CLOCKS
1st Andy Bohnsack powered his way to a perfect 4-0 +445 to finish atop a strong expert field. Andy also scored 10 bingoes on the night, marred only by his first phony of the year, when he played “flapond” in his 527-295 win vs. Gail Salm. Andy had transposed the “f” and the “p” from the correct spelling of PLAFOND, a actual word referring to ceiling decorations.
2nd Charles Reinke took second on a 4-1 +210 tally. Charles had his closest game when he bested Shayla Dunn 420-383, for a 37 point win, aided by his two bingoes of ANTBEAR and GERANIOL.
3rd Lynda Finn following up on her impressive 1st place finish in the fabled Minnesota Redeye Tournament topped Mark Kenas 417-371 in her final game on her way to a 3-1 +171 night, nailing down a 3rd place finish.
SUE GOLDSTEIN 1st IN INTERMEDIATES
1st Sue Goldstein rode a 2-1 +282 scoring evening to top spot in a teeny field of Intermediates at the club. Sue drew well in her games with June Scott as she averaged over 400 in those opening salvos.
2nd Harwinder Dowd finished in 2nd with an abbreviated 1-1 evening. Her loss came at the hands of expert Susan Vergeront, 295-373 in the second game match up.
3rd June Scott ended in 3rd in the field of 3 intermediates, with a 0-3 record. Despite the lack of wins, June continues to enjoy just playing the game and sharing the social interactions. Her quick wit and well known gentle laugh add to everyone’s enjoyment of our little club.
20 scrabble players met at Attic Angels this week,... No one was awarded the $4 prize for the highest “YC” play (in YCLAD), Shayla Dunn had the lowest L play, Gail Salm took high A, and Barbara Besadny had the finishing low D play.
Bingo King this week was Charles Reinke with 11 including back-to-back plays of ANTELOPE and UNSOCIAL. ANTELOPE takes a “G” front hook to make another noun, GANTELOPE.
Next week, CALIF (n, an Eastern potentate) will provide the $4 royalties.
